311. What memory of yours feels real but is most likely false?
I'm one of those people who ~remembers~ floating downstairs as a toddler! This is apparently really common (which you can see when you google it), and obviously not something that actually ever happened to anyone, but still a cool childhood dream to share (or maybe a memory of being carried). :D

377. Do you prefer to be too hot or too cold, and why?
I'm completely fine with either tbh. I'm only not a fan of being hot when I'm outside in the sun without any shade. But hot in the shade or not outside at all is okay with me, and cold is okay too.

425. How do you feel about snakes and spiders?
Snakes are adorable. Spiders who are bigger than 3 cm or so give me an "AHHH wtf" moment when I notice them, but it passes very quickly and then they're also kinda adorable. :D

65. What TV show character would it be the most fun to change places with for a week?
I don't even care how fun being stranded would be in practice, I want to be on Lost! ♡ Change places with maybe Charlie - someone who doesn't have to do much, but also gets to meet all my favorite characters on a regular basis, especially Locke. :D (And he didn't get accidentally killed by Locke either, which is something I'd very much like to avoid too, lol.)

222. If you could talk to animals and they would understand you, but you couldn’t understand them, what would you do with that power?
I could properly reassure or at least distract panicking pets at the vet. :) This kind of superpower would also make someone a supervet instantly, but I don't think I could emotionally handle being a vet even with it, so someone who is not me should get it. :D

456. What do you think of the electric scooters you find in most big cities?
Good for the people who use them, but I've never done it myself. (I've never even used a scooter of any kind in the first place, I'm not sure if it's something you need to practice so that you don't fall over? xD)

The Fannish Friday Five for 14 April 2023

1. What fandom(s) do you follow on LiveJournal or Dreamwidth?
The only fandoms that I'm more or less familiar with that you can actually follow on dreamwidth (as in, they have active communities here) are sid_guardian and bnha_fans. I only watched a bit of both, though, so I'm not active there. (I had to drop out of the Guardian re-watch a while ago because of how easily I can fall behind on dw as it is. *pouting because it was awesome* I'm watching it myself, though. :D) My main fandoms don't have active communities, but that's not stopping me from posting about them, and sometimes even my dw friends are also fans. :D

2. Where else do you follow those fandoms?
At this point I mostly just follow Yellowjackets on reddit A LOT. :D I also find new fandoms via AO3 exchanges, and sometimes on tumblr.

3. Have you ever met up with fannish friends?
Well, I've been living with one of them for the last 10 years - I originally met jacquelee on lj. :D I also met a few other people from lj at Fedcon - Onyx and Astra, and I really hope I'm not forgetting anyone else, but if I am, it was also awesome meeting you. :D

4. When there's a question on a 'find a fic' community, are you likely to help find the fic or do you hope someone else will know it?
The chances that I know the fandom are already pretty low. If I do know the fandom, the chances that I either already know the fic or it's something I'd be okay with skimming in the process of searching are... pretty much non-existent? But in general, I'd be happy to help. :D (And I'd definitely be happy to help if it's something that doesn't need skimming the content - like if someone looking for a title they already know, and you just need google-fu to find it.)

5. Did you customize/tweak your LJ or DW home page or are you using one of the basic options?
Back in the day I used to customize literally everything (including the scroll bar and cursor sometimes), and then it kinda just gradually changed to 'mostly customized' to 'a little bit customized' to 'not customized at all', not even sure why. Well, my favorite lj layout died because of broken links, so that's possibly why. xD But I'm happy with my current basic layout. :D

288. What’s the biggest overreaction you’ve ever seen?
Eh, I think 'overreaction' is relative, and in the end it's just the way someone is able to react at a particular moment. And as long as no one is getting harmed, every kind of reaction is just fine. :)

492. What is your favorite animated film?
I'm not big on films, but one of my favorites is definitely Song of the Sea. I adore the art, and obviously the fact that it's about seals. :D

186. What inconsequential super power would you like to have?
Changing my hair color at will. :D (Which I do anyway, but without the superpower it takes time to fade/grow out, and money to buy the dyes. xD) Oh, and keeping my hair at just the right length without it growing out would be cool too!

I don't have one, but I'm the lucky person who is not inconvenienced by hiccups at all. :)

I'm still mostly dealing with the computer changes (I'll only be able to get my files back on Thursday at the earliest), but I feel like going back to the meme. :D

(I've only watched the first season of the new She-Ra, if that's relevant. :))

1. Who would you rather swap aesthetics/outfits with for a day?
Catra, but I would especially love clothes that have Catra's style and Toph's colors. :D

2. Who do you team up with in a 2v2 volleyball match? Which side wins?
Hmm, earthbending doesn't help you with specifically volleyball since the ball is not supposed to touch the ground. xD So I guess I'd pick Catra because she'd be super competitive, and we would probably win.

3. If each of them got one million dollars, who would waste/spend their money the fastest?
Not really any of them (definitely not Vimes!), but if I need to pick someone then probably Catra.

4. Who would die first in a horror movie? Who would be the survivor?
If it's some form of horror where earthbending does help you, I'm picking Toph as the survivor, but who dies first is pretty much impossible to decide because they're all so unlikely to not be the survivor. Maybe Catra because of doing something stupidly brave.

5. They're all on the run from the law! What crimes did each commit and who is most likely to get caught?
Oooops, one of the people here IS the law, I guess the other two are now caught. xD Well, if Vimes breaks the law, he has a good reason and wouldn't get caught. Toph does random mischief that may or may not be a crime, Catra does a more serious brand of random mischief, lol. Neither of them sounds likely to get caught, unless, again, it's some method of getting caught where earthbending will not help you.

Still doing the meme, I'd always love more characters. :D

1. You have to choose one to erase from their series! Who do you pick?
I like Aeryn a lot more, they're both pretty much equally important, so that's an easy choice - Londo goes.

2. Who would you rather run into in a dark alley at night?
Aeryn, but only when she's not a Peacekeeper anymore.

3. Who would you save from a burning building? Who would be more likely to save you from a burning building?

4. Who would win in a dance-off?

5. They swap bodies for 24 hours! How badly do they mess up (or improve) each other's lives?
I watched both shows far too long ago to be able to remember specific situations in which this bodyswap would be relevant, which is a shame because this is a fascinating scenario! The one thing I'm pretty sure about is that the first thing other people would notice, before their decisions, would be the way they speak and their sense of humor.

The Friday Five for 24 March 2023 -- Random Word Generator Edition

1. Forest: Do you spend a lot of time in nature? Do you want to?
Currently nature is not always very accessible to me because of mental health/trauma reasons, but I LOVE it sfm. Spending a lot of time in nature is definitely one of my favorite things ever. :D

2. Cereal: What do you usually eat for breakfast?
I don't have any special 'breakfast foods', I eat the same things that I do for other meals. :)

3. Flu: How do you cope with getting a minor illness?
I don't, lmao. Right now this is mostly a joke because I am getting a lot better, but it is my biggest trigger, and up to some point 'getting a minor illness' used to equal 'the literal end of the actual world'.

4. Worm: What sort of dirty/messy activities do you enjoy?
Smooshing slime and other sensory stuff like that? :D And I don't mind getting dirty in any situation in general.

5. Bang: What's the last celebration you went to?
New Year's Eve. :D (I also really want to mention Lughnasadh last August because it was amazing. ♡♡♡)

1. Could you take them in a fight?
Ahahah, I don't have any 'break people like rag dolls with your mind' superpowers, so nope.

2. Would you let them cook for you?
Sure, I'd happily try Eggos, see what is so awesome about them. :D

3. They give you a haircut! Is it any good?
Oh wow, okay, soooo my haircut of choice is El's trauma haircut. (We even have the same natural hair color so after a new haircut but before I dye my hair I always look like El.) Better not!

4. What would they get you for your birthday, if anything?
Something carefully handmade, and I would love it. :D

5. If they were a YouTuber, what sort of content would they create? Would you be subscribed to them?
I can totally see her making a completely mundane vlog, and changing / embellishing some things to sound better than they are in reality, the way she did in her letters. It would be heartbreaking (at least until she got to the point where she doesn't have to embellish anymore), but I'd love to see her perspective on things even when it's not fully honest, so I would definitely subscribe.

1. You have to choose one to erase from their series! Who do you pick?
Paul just because I like Hugh better. xD

2. Who would you rather run into in a dark alley at night?
They're both harmless, but Hugh is less likely to be doing something totally unpredictable so I guess he's the better choice.

3. Who would you save from a burning building? Who would be more likely to save you from a burning building?
Hmmm, they're kind of both equally likely to survive/not survive, so I'm choosing Hugh for shallow reasons of liking him better. xD And they are both equally likely to want to save me, though Hugh probably a bit more, being a doctor.

4. Who would win in a dance-off?
Stamets obvsly! xD

5. They swap bodies for 24 hours! How badly do they mess up (or improve) each other's lives?
Neither of them can do the other one's high stakes job, so messing up is inevitable here. And that's just skills / knowledge - personality-wise, Hugh would do much better as an engineer than Paul would do as a doctor, so there would be some more messing up on his part. xD (Though it's not really messing up their lives, just their jobs.)

This is a fun thefridayfive for someone who watches, like, one movie every 2 years. ;D

The Friday Five for 10 March 2023

1. Do you plan to watch the Oscars broadcast this Sunday?
Nope, the only Oscars ceremony I've ever watched was the 2006 one because of Walk the Line which I haven't actually WATCHED, I was just very attached to Joaquin Phoenix at that point. But thanks for the TIL that it's this Sunday. :D

2. Have you seen many of this year's Oscar-nominated films?
You can see how much I know about this topic by me thinking that maybe Encanto was new enough for this year and finding out that it actually won an Oscar last year. xD So, the answer is nope, none.

3. Which movie is your pick for Best Picture?
The one movie I'm actually planning to watch because it sounds AMAZING is Everything Everywhere All at Once, so that's what I'm choosing. xD Feel free to give me other recs, though!

4. What are some of your other picks to win Oscars?
All the knowledge I had got used up by the previous question. xD

5. What is your favorite movie of all time?
