14/3/23 13:59I had a literal shower thought (in the literal shower xD) about The Last of Us today.
Spoilers for episode 9 - Look for the Light.
Soooo, what Joel did was messed up and I'm not okay with it even if I also 100% understand it. But Marlene was being all 'Ellie would have wanted to sacrifice herself', and yeah, that's not unlikley, but YOU DIDN'T ASK HER EITHER, wonder why that is.
And I have no idea if what I'm thinking is nothing new because it's obvious or common knowledge (or impossible), BUT what if Marlene DID ask her (and only told Joel that Ellie didn't know anything because it was supposed to calm him down), and that's why Ellie knows that Joel is lying?
That's it, that's my shower thought.
Also, I loved seeing more puns, and Ellie dissociating at the beginning of the episode was super relatable.

15/3/23 00:27 (UTC)One thing I appreciate about the storytelling, both in the games and in the show, is how none of the characters are presented as black-and-white, there's always something deeply complex about the motivations characters have and the choices they make. Who was in the right and who was in the wrong? Who is the good guy and who is the bad guy? These are questions that are asked that are never directly answered because we, the observers, are to decide that for ourselves.
