Dreams
a supernatural dramedy

Amanda goes on a casual date with her sister's coworker. When he asks, "Do you want me to make all your dreams come true?" she takes it as the most cheesy pick-up line she's ever heard and replies jokingly, "Go ahead."

And he does.

At first it's only small things. When the next day after dreaming about losing her keys she needs to change her locks, she thinks it's a coincidence. When the abandoned backyard down the street is suddenly full of flowers, she thinks she's just been too busy to notice it earlier. It's when she meets her daughter she never got to have that she realizes that something really weird is going on.

The dreams that come true are not her wishes. They're the dreams that happen during sleep.


Amanda Harper (Michelle Rodriguez)

Amanda is very happy in most aspects of her life - she's single and not looking, draws and paints for a living, and has wonderful supportive friends. One of her most boring and forgettable casual dates suddenly turns her world upside down.

Brandon Davis (Josh Holloway)

Amanda's ex-husband. They married quickly almost 10 years ago, and divorced even quicker. In the meantime Amanda miscarried their much wanted child. They remain close friends, and sometimes he thinks that their relationship could work if they gave it a second chance.

Luana Davis (Ariel Gade)

Amanda and Brandon's daughter, brought into existence by Amanda's dream. She remembers her whole life that she has never actually lived. In her reality her parents never got divorced.

Troy Allen (Nathan Fillion)

His date with Amanda started all the events. He seems quite shallow, but not dangerous. Is it just a pose or is he also being played by someone else?

Patricia Harper (Rosario Dawson)

Amanda's sister and Troy's coworker. After all the things start to happen, she's the only person who doesn't really seem shocked. Amanda slowly begins to suspect her, but is the suspicion justified?

Emily Green (Gabourey Sidibe)

Patricia's long time girlfriend and Amanda's close friend. A scientist who refuses to believe that anything supernatural is going on at all, while trying not tell Amanda that maybe she's losing her mind. Her beliefs begin to waver when all the walls in her own house turn bright indigo overnight, but she still tries to find a natural explanation for the events and a scientific way to control them.

April Harper-Green (Yara Shahidi)

Patricia and Emily's daughter. She's the first person other than Amanda who can interact with Luana when she's still not fully materialized, which is the first thing that confirms Luana is real.

Kayleigh Anderson (Katee Sackhoff)

Amanda's best friend since childhood. She has no problem believing Amanda and at first she deems the power "cool" and tells Amanda to dream about a million dollars. When she realizes all the dangers the power had bring as it develops, she swears to help Amanda find a way to control it without losing Luana.

Jasmine Allen (Georgie Henley)

Troy's little sister. After snooping a bit too much and finding a suspicious notebook she makes it her mission to find all the people who may be affected by whatever it is that her brother does. That's how Amanda finds out she's not alone.

The Lady in White (Yunjin Kim)

At first Amanda thinks that this woman is another person she has brought into existence by her dreams. But when Jasmine shows her pictures of the woman with Troy, Amanda starts to think it would be too much of a coincidence. Is she the person who is behind it all, and what are her goals?

Good evening,

very interessting idea. Of course, the first thing I like is, that you use so many lost actors, especially Josh Holloway and Yunjin Kim. I also like Nathan Fillion and Rosario Dawson. Good choice.

Too bad, that that isn´t a real tv show, I really want to know what will happen to the characters. BTW, I have created a TV show for this challenge, too. Did you read mine idea, too?

Hee, my idea for the cast was pretty much "let's put my favorite people together", so at least a few of them had to be from Lost. :D (And TBH I think the cast worked pretty well in the end. :))

I kinda know where this would be going, I only wish I had the patience and talent to make it a fic... And of course a real tv show would be even better. :D Especially I would pay actual money to see Ariel Gade play Josh and Michelle's daughter - she looks sooo effin' much like them. :D

I started like that, too. I ask myself, which characters do I like the most. The only thing I want was to use as many different tv shows as I can, so I just have one person from Lost.

But I am sure, if I was useing only lost, I would have found enough characters, which I could use for this.

Lovely cast! Katee and Michelle together = AWESOMESAUCE!!!! Those are two of my favorite actresses. I like the Supernatural/Dramedy woven together plotline.

Holy crud, I want to watch this show!

Firstly: Premise. WOAH!!!

Secondly: The Cast. LOVE how you have Michelle as someone artistic. Her characters usually work in something to do with cars or law enforcement of some sort. It would be really nice to see her branch out, but still be a strong female character. And of course, Josh as her husband! **swoon** Why do I somehow imagine them getting back together towards the end of the series...? Speaking of which, gee, I wonder where you got the name Luana...? ;-)

A part of me would have expected the Troy character to look a little more exotic. But I suppose someone who looks more "ordinary" could work too. After all, who would suspect? The character also reminds me a bit of Dream from the Sandman comic by Neil Gaiman - or at least, whoever is behind Amanda's dreams coming true seems to be capable of doing some of the things Dream is capable of. (Very good comic series, by the way! If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it.)

Love Rosario Dawson as Michelle's sister. I've always thought the two look like they could be related.

The Emily Green character reminds me of Scully from X-Files (well, except the last two seasons). I'd adore seeing another character like her on T.V. again!

I never saw a whole lot of BSG, but I remember Starbuck was really bad-ass. So I could definitely see Katee Sackhoff's character and Michelle's character getting on real well.

Finally, I don't know much about Yara Shahidi, but yay child of gay parents! Also, Georgie Henley is adorable and The Lady in White (at least the name) makes me think of the legend of La Llorana, who I always sorta associated with Ana Lucia just a little bit (and therefor Amanda, who also lost her baby).

Definitely would LOVE to see some fic! PPPPPPLLLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEE????!!!!

Michelle should kinda play herself in something. :D She is badass but not really in the way her characters are - she's smart and loving and funny and creative and she should get to play a character like that at least once. :)

Troy is kind of an annoying "dudebro" guy (as much as I ADORE Nathan, he would be perfect for this role xD), definitely not someone who seems suspicious. :) (And TBH, the concept of "exotic" is pretty icky.) I've never heard of Sandman, but now I'm really curious!

Aww, I haven't watched enough X-Files to really get a feel of Scully's character (I've only seen 4 episodes), so any similarity wasn't intentional, but it's definitely a compliment! ♥

Starbuck was badass and all kinds of amazing, and Katee IRL really reminds me of Michelle sometimes - adorable smart goofball. :D

I won't be making it a full fic (I don't have enough patience for WIP kind of stuff, and not enough writing skills either), sorry? *puppy-eyes* But if I get some clearer ideas I might actually write some random one-shots. *ponders* I'm not promising anything though! :P

Love the cast you've got, totally agree with Rosario being like her. BRilliant choices, fab premise. Syfy with drama and gotta be the sizzling twisted fairytale we so love too.
