Challenge #4 - In your own space, add something to your fandom’s canon.

I'm going to reuse an older tumblr post of mine about The Magicians because it's still my favorite headcanon/AU.

(This post contains spoilers for seasons 4 and 5.)

Headcanon in which Persephone, who wants to leave the Underworld, had been underhandedly preparing Julia to become her replacement as the goddess of the Underworld all along, and eventually tricks her into staying.

When the Penny scene aired and stayed a cliffhanger for multiple episodes, I legit thought that the person in the elevator would turn out to be Julia, and that's how this idea was born.

Aaaaaaaand one of the most important things about this headcanon/AU is that the wonderful Rubick actually wrote an entire amazing story about it! ♡♡♡

Goddess, bitches! (3491 words) by Rubick
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: The Magicians (TV)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Quentin Coldwater & Julia Wicker

Summary:

Julia shook her head, falling back against the couch, her eyes screwing shut. “I was indestructible. Now I’m dead.”

“You’re not dead,” said a soft, familiar voice. “You’re ascending.”

Julia’s eyes snapped open, her jaw dropping when she saw Our Lady Underground sitting calmly next to her. “You,” Julia said, feeling like her heart had stopped beating. Which, it had, because she was dead. Right?

“You died,” Julia said. “I saw—”

“—what I needed you to see.” Our Lady Underground’s voice was that same patient, calming tone it always was. “I’m sorry. It was necessary.”

“Necessary for what?”Julia asked, glancing at Penny. His eyes were as wide as she imagined hers were, his gaze darting between them. “What do you mean, I’m ascending? How can I be ascending when I’m dead?”

“You’re not dead, Julia,” she said again. “You made your choice. This is your journey. It always has been.”

Also, bonus and unrelated post-canon headcanon, since I've been talking about Penny. :D This is also an older tumblr post of mine.

Headcanon: HQ goes by “Quentin” as she grows up, and when she’s somewhere with her father other people’s assumptions re: which one of these people is Penny and which one is Quentin are nearly 100% of the time incorrect.

Bonus: Penny gets less and less unimpressed when people assume that his name is Quentin.
