Lost is my all-time favorite show. It's my all time favorite thing, really. ♥ I will never be able to explain how much it means to me, but even if in the end it doesn't mean the same to you, there are still countless reasons to watch it!

There's some mysterious stuff that really isn't half as confusing as everyone keeps saying. :D (I admit that many shows confuse me, lol, at least at the beginning, but Lost is one of the few shows that literally has never confused me.)

There are many epic canon ships and (THIS IS KIND OF SPOILERY BUT NOT REALLY :D) quite a few of them get an epic happy ending. Personally I don't ship any of them (I might be the only person in the entire fandom :P), so I don't feel I'm the right person to flail about them. My OTPs are tiny little ships that never really got a chance, so if this kind of shipping (het, femslash and slash!) is more of your thing, there is A LOT of them too. :D

There are breathtaking landscapes.

The cast is super adorable and fun, not to mention talented.

But for me it will always be a show about many unforgettable and extremely relatable characters, who get a second chance to redo their past in a symbolic way and make different choices. (And then they kind of get a third chance to redo what they didn't redo fully the first time around.) So I made picspams of a few scenes that deal with this theme. There's SO MUCH MORE of this on the show, it was hard to choose. :D

ALSO, EVERY SINGLE EPISODE OF THIS SHOW WILL MAKE YOU CRY. JSYK.

(The picspams are spoiler-ish for four episodes from S1.)

1x17 ...IN TRANSLATION

SHANNON: Boone, where is he?

LOCKE: Don't know.

SHANNON: What do you mean you don't know? You two are like jungle pals.

LOCKE: Sorry, I haven't seen him.

SHANNON: Well, if you do see him, tell him to keep his stupid mouth shut. And if he does have something to say, he can leave Sayid out of it, and come say it to my face.

LOCKE: Should I be writing this down?

SHANNON: Just tell him to stay the hell out of my business.

LOCKE: Do you like him?

SHANNON: What?

LOCKE: Sayid.

SHANNON: Are you serious?

LOCKE: Because if you do -- like him, what's it got to do with your brother? You're a grown woman. Sure, you can yell at Boone 'til you're blue in the face, but all you're doing is giving him what he wants.

SHANNON: Yeah, what's that?

LOCKE: Your attention. Everyone gets a new life on this Island, Shannon. Maybe it's time you start yours.

1x13 HEARTS AND MINDS

LOCKE: Your sister?

BOONE: Don't play dumb with me.

LOCKE: Calm down.

BOONE: She died in my arms.

LOCKE: Why is there no blood on you?

BOONE: What the hell just happened to me out there?

LOCKE: I don't know. I don't know, you tell me. But your sister, Shannon... [we can see Shannon walk up with Sayid in the background]

BOONE: She was dead.

LOCKE: Is that what it made you see?

BOONE: What made me see? That stuff you put on my head -- you drugged me.

LOCKE: I gave you an experience that I believe was vital to your survival on this Island.

BOONE: It wasn't real?

LOCKE: It was only as real as you made it.

BOONE: I saw her -- I saw her die.

LOCKE: How did you feel? When she died?

BOONE: I felt -- I felt -- I felt relieved. I felt relieved.

LOCKE: Yes. Time to let go.

1x07 THE MOTH

CHARLIE: Did you hear what I said? I want my drugs back. I need 'em.

LOCKE: Yet you gave them to me. Hmm.

CHARLIE: And I bloody well regret it. I'm sick, man. Can't you see that?

LOCKE: I think you're a lot stronger than you know, Charlie. And I'm going to prove it to you. I'll let you ask me for your drugs three times. The third time, I'm going to give them to you. Now, just so we're clear, this is one.

CHARLIE: Why? Why? Why are you doing this? To torture me? Just get rid of them and have done with it?

LOCKE: If I did that you wouldn't have a choice, Charlie. And having choices, making decisions based on more than instinct, is the only thing that separates you from him [indicating the boar].

CHARLIE: Give them to me.

LOCKE: This is the third time. Are you sure you really want them?

CHARLIE: I've made my choice.

[Locke hands the drugs to Charlie. Charlie looks at them and throws them in the fire.]

LOCKE: I'm proud of you, Charlie. Always knew you could do it.

[Charlie looks up and sees a moth.]

1x16 OUTLAWS

MARY: Wake up. He's here. C'mon. Got to get you up. He'll think you're still with your grandparents, okay? Get under the bed. Let's go. Okay. Listen to mommy, this is really important. Get under the bed, don't make a sound. Don't come out, no matter what happens. Don't come out, okay?

YOUNG SAWYER: Okay.

MARY: I love you.

YOUNG SAWYER: I love you too, mommy.

MARY: Let's go. Down you go.

SAWYER'S FATHER: Open this door!

MARY: Stop it! Please stop it! Go away! Stop it!

[Sound of the door breaking.]

MARY: What the hell is wrong with you?! I'm calling the police, get out of here. What are you doing? What the hell are you doing with a gun, get out of...

[Sound of gunshot and her body falling to the floor. Shot of Sawyer under the bed, and his POV watching his father's boots walk into the room. The father sits on the bed and we hear the sound of him shooting himself.]

[Shot of Sawyer waking up on the Island. He hears boar sounds in his tent. He hits it with a metal pipe, and goes running after it. Then he hears the whispers. We can hear the last line of the whispers: It'll come back around.]

SAWYER: It ate all our stuff?

KATE: Nope. It ate your stuff. Mine's fine.

SAWYER: Oh, that hog's gonna suffer. I swear to god.

LOCKE: Mornin'. What happened to your campsite?

SAWYER: Awww, son of a -- ohhh, peed on my shirt! Took my shirt out of the bag and peed on it! And you say this ain't personal.

KATE: He thinks the boar we're after has a vendetta against him.

LOCKE: Uh-huh.

SAWYER: That's 3 times it's attacked me.

KATE: Maybe it's got your scent, doesn't like your cologne?

SAWYER: I don't wear cologne.

KATE: Yes, you do.

SAWYER: Yeah, well. The thing's got it in for me.

KATE: It's a boar, Sawyer.

LOCKE: My sister, Jeanie, died when I was a boy. Fell off the monkey bars and broke her neck. And my mother, well, my foster mother, she blamed herself, of course. She thought she wasn't watching close enough. So, she stopped eating, stopped sleeping. The neighbors started talking, afraid she might do something to herself, I guess. About 6 months after Jeanie's funeral, this golden retriever comes padding up our driveway, walks right into our house, sits down on the floor, and looks right at my mother, there on the couch. And my mother looks back at the dog. After about a minute of this, of them both staring at each other like that, my mother burst into tears. Beautiful dog, no tags, no collar, healthy, and sweet. The dog slept in Jeanie's old room, on Jeanie's old bed and stayed with us until my mother passed 5 years later. Then, disappeared back to wherever it was she came from in the first place.

KATE: So, you're saying the dog was your sister?

LOCKE: Well, that would be silly. But my mother thought it was, thought that Jeanie had come back to tell her the accident wasn't her fault, let her off the hook.

SAWYER: Sawyer. [He shoots Duckett.] I've got a letter for you. [reads] "Dear Mr. Sawyer..."

DUCKETT: Who?

SAWYER: You used to go by the name of Sawyer.

DUCKETT: What the hell are you talking about? You didn't have to -- tell Hibbs I would've paid.

SAWYER: How do you know Hibbs?

DUCKETT: You don't -- you don't know what you're doing, do you?

SAWYER: You borrowed money from Hibbs?

DUCKETT: I was going to pay. It'll come back around.

SAWYER: It's just a boar. Let's get back to camp.
