Sharing is Caring:
For one week, recommend / share:

Day 1: a song
Day 2: a picture
Day 3: a book/ebook/fanfic
Day 4: a site
Day 5: a youtube clip
Day 6: a quote
Day 7: whatever tickles your fancy

I'm gonna cheat here... kinda. ;)
I can't miss the chance to recommend goodsearch.com, this site is made of awesome. It's not only simply useful for you, it also helps any charity you choose yourself! :)
But since it's not the first time I'm writing about GoodSearch on this lj, I'm also gonna recommend iusedtobelieve.com. :D It's a site where everyone can write what you thought was true when you were a child. And you can spend hours reading and rating other hilarious beliefs. :D (Some of my beliefs are in top-rated, hee.)

So, I signed up for Blog Action Day weeks or even months ago, I guess I'll keep the "promise" even though I probably would've written nothing for a while otherwise. :P At least it says to keep your own writing style, and I don't blog per se (before lj I had another blog where I used to write a lot, way too much in fact, and in 2003-2005 I probably went over my blogging limit for next 10 years or so ;)), so I'll just do what I usually do anyway - how you can help the cause without spending money! ^^ Giving links to sites that take actual donations would interest maybe one person or not even that, most people already donate somewhere and spare money to give on a random site isn't something common - but when it costs nothing I hope everyone who sees this post will at least do that click. :D

"Free click to donate" sites that fight poverty, mostly with microloans and education, because that's what makes the most actual difference:
http://povertyfighters.com
http://solvepoverty.com
http://children.care2.com
http://www.theliteracysite.com
http://ripple.org

And then there's http://www.goodsearch.com and goodshop (at the same link - you buy what you'd buy anyway, in the same online shops as always, and some % of the money still goes to charity) with thousands charities you pick yourself, and another site almost exactly like goodshop -
http://www.agoodcause.com. :)

For Children's Day (here and in some other countries), everyone who sees this post gives one click to each site:

porloschicos.com (<- the blue button)
pajacyk.pl (<- the puppet's belly)
thechildhealthsite.com
children.care2.com

(The two non-English sites give food to hungry children.)

It's free and doesn't take more than 2 minutes!

If it's Children's Day where you are, repost it in your lj today! :)

http://aidtochildren.com
- a site exactly like freerice, a vocabulary game. At the beginning it looks way too easy, but once it gets to level 4 (or sometimes even 3) it does get difficult, so there is definitely something new to learn - and levels change really fast! :) It has something even more fun than freerice - you see the total amount of donated money grow with every question you answer :D Every correct answer is 0.25 cents donated to World Vision.

http://gamingforcharity.org
- literally fun :D Hundreds (thousands?) of free online flash games (they load really quickly - and with my computer I can't say this about other flash game sites I occasionally tried - and are great quality), there are ads under each game, and money goes to different organizations in order to help find a cure for breast cancer and HIV/AIDS, and to diminish world hunger. The organizations are listed here.

http://savetheworldwithmusic.com
- a very new site, just starting, but since the quiz is interesting and enjoyable, I thought I'd post it too :D It's a music quiz and money is donated to PlayPumps, helps provide clean drinking water in Africa.

Yup, more "click to donate" - and how useful :D

They're google or yahoo based, so don't worry about getting bad results :) Who needs the plain google anymore ;) Except for images, but some of them do have an image search too, gotta memorize which ones, 'cause I just learnt about them all (I only knew Ripple before) :D Some have really nifty options too, like picking what charity you do the search for, all are worth checking out at least once ^^
